Durante três séculos o Malleus foi a bíblia dos Inquisidores e esteve na banca de todos os julgamentos. Quando cessou a caça às bruxas, no século XVIII, houve grande transformação na condição feminina.

From some site on the web:

"The Witch Hammer - first published in 1486, is arguably one of the most infamous books ever written, due primarily to its position and regard during the Middle Ages. It served as a guidebook for Inquisitors during the Inquisition, and was designed to aid them in the identification, prosecution, and dispatching of Witches. It set forth, as well, many of the modern misconceptions and fears concerning witches and the influence of witchcraft. The questions, definitions, and accusations it set forth in regard to witches, which were reinforced by its use during the Inquisition, came to be widely regarded as irrefutable truth. Those beliefs are held even today by a majority of Christians in regard to practitioners of the modern “revived” religion of Witchcraft, or Wicca. And while the Malleus itself is largely unknown in modern times, its effects have proved long lasting."

And the contestation by MJ:

"Absolutely marvellous in every way I can think of, well done mate.

However, I am going to have to be a History Nazi and call you on a part of your description.
Number wise, it would be impossible for the majority of Christians to hold to the beliefs of the Malleus Maleficarum. Remember that the Catholic Church banned the book in 1490, a mere 4 years after its completion, and added it to the Index Librorum Prohibitorum. While self-proclaimed inquisitors and rogue hunters may have used it more than I do toilet paper, the Hammer was not accepted by the single largest denomination of Christians of both then and now. Also, no such study has ever been made to support the theory that the majority of Christians adhere to the Hammer, be it that they know of the book or not. I have a dusty old copy of it in a bookshelf somewhere (antique auctions are freaky places), so I can honestly tell you that if indeed the majority of Christians or even a tiny (but well armed) subgroup like the WBC fully adhered to the Hammer, there would be no Wiccans left. Whoever told you otherwise was tugging quite harshly on your leg, I recommend you strap them to the rack.

Anyways, didn't mean to rant, but history is my passion and when I can correct I will.

Once more, awesome work. I especially like the attention to detail on the frayed edges of the hood. I hope frayed is the right word.
Keep it up."

Thanks for bring some light, MJ :-)

Awesome texture on the cloak, nice touch ommitting a face (makes it look more eerie and ominous). Awesome work with the flame and that glowing cross. Very nice piece.
